Your Puget Sound-Area Realtor

We live in a beautiful city and stunning region. Renowned for its nearby mountains, interwoven waterways, and picturesque islands scattered throughout its nuanced terrain, the Pacific Northwest is a pleasure to call home.

One of the many reasons I enjoy being a Realtor® is because it allows me to showcase the region's unique homes and highlight why Puget Sound is such a sought-after destination.

You have a lot of choices when it comes to choosing a real estate agent. In addition to my knowledge and passion for the region, I bring a solid background in construction and real estate investment which informs and enhances every client interaction.

Whether you’re a buyer or seller, a first-time homeowner or seasoned pro, I welcome the opportunity to meet you, explain my services, and strategize your next home purchase or sale.

Justin Mellon

As a Washington native, born and raised in small-town Sequim on the Olympic Peninsula, I was encouraged to learn, experiment, and take calculated risks. I’ve carried those valuable lessons from childhood into my career as a real estate agent, property investor, and trusted advisor for my buyer and seller clients.

Work in the construction industry while attending the University of Washington introduced me to a love of older homes and the pride that comes from helping to craft and shape their next chapter. Working with my hands, collaborating with contractors, and envisioning a home’s yet-to-be-realized potential are large part of my professional and personal life. Since 2005, I’ve specialized in helping my clients—buyers and sellers alike—envision and execute their home’s highest potential.

Client satisfaction is my #1 goal and my buyer and seller testimonials reflect my success.

As a licensed Realtor® and broker, I lead a talented team of colleagues that includes Justyna Kieko, Caitlin Spence, and my brother, Andrew Mellon.

When I’m not working, I’m out exploring with my wife and son. We enjoy hiking, backcountry skiing, surfing, paddle boarding, and discovering places off the beaten path—both locally and around the world.

Justyna Kieko

Realtor

Justyna is a Seattle native and University of Washington alumnae who joined Lake & Company in 2015. In the years since, she and Justin have partnered on more than 300 transactions. Their team’s high-touch, hands-on approach has helped Justyna further develop her keen eye for design and ability to help clients determine cost-effective updates that can transform the look and feel of a home. These skills are invaluable when she’s helping sellers prep a home for the market or strategizing with buyers who want to make a few modifications when their keys are in hand. Her business acumen, patience, and determination set her apart from her peers. Outside of work, Justyna is actively involved in volunteering for an animal rescue organization.

Caitlin Spence

realtor

After a decade in the nonprofit sector, Caitlin came into the real estate industry with a strong service mindset. She takes the time to understand each client’s unique goals and needs and is always available to answer questions and talk through their options. Caitlin’s first home was a newly constructed townhouse in Magnolia, short on personality and big on bathrooms. Now Caitlin and her family of four live in a 1904 farmhouse in Ballard, which initially had the exact opposite bathroom challenge. She’s had many opportunities to get creative about design and remodel work, and she applies that creativity to meet her clients’ needs and ultimately bring their vision to life. Outside of work, you’ll find Caitlin camping on the Wallace River in the north Cascades, palling around town with her husband and two kids, or volunteering at the Ballard Food Bank.

Andrew Mellon

realtor

Andrew worked in construction and remodeled floating homes on Seattle’s renowned Lake Union while simultaneously earning his bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington. He joined Lake and Company in 2013, where his construction background continues to pay dividends when working with clients. He serves buyer and seller clients across all price points—from $400K condos to multi-million-dollar homes, from Duvall to Bainbridge Island, Mukilteo to Renton. Andrew has remodeled several rentals that he owns and manages, and he brings this experience to his work counseling first-time buyers as well as seasoned investors as they evaluate properties. Andrew is known for consistently going the extra mile for his clients. Outside of work, Andrew pursues his love of the water—kayaking, sailing, and ferrying across Puget Sound to visit his family who remain in his childhood home of Sequim, Washington.

Working with Justin and his partner, Justyna, was an excellent experience, and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to sell or buy. They are true professionals and made us feel like we were working with friends right from the start. My husband and I decided to sell our home on relatively short notice, and Justin and Justyna rolled up their sleeves and were excellent partners helping us list and sell our house quickly. Justin is an expert in the market and made recommendations on the best time to list, and Justyna had a sharp eye for staging our home (with our own furniture!) to attract the best buyers. I can’t say enough good things, and I would be happy to work with Justin and his team again.

My background in home construction and real-estate investing will bring a unique, no-nonsense approach to my assessment of every home we visit.

I specialize in working with owners of older Seattle homes. Pre-listing assessment and prep work to maximize value are a large portion of my business.

When it’s time to sell your home, I’m happy to meet to discuss current market conditions, see your home’s unique features, and recommend cost-effective updates that will increase the value of your home.

Your Trusted Realtor, In and Around Puget Sound

The unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic offered me, like many people, a chance to reflect and reevaluate my work-life balance. My family and I used downtime during the pandemic to buy and remodel a house in my hometown of Sequim, Washington.

I now split time between Seattle and the Olympic Peninsula. This flexibility offers my buyer and seller clients even more selection and firsthand perspective when it comes to expanding their real estate portfolios to include a second home or investment property.

With the support of my longtime team members, our seven-day-a-week service areas include all Puget Sound neighborhoods and the Olympic Peninsula—just a short ferry ride away.
